My dear departed friend got into a horrible car crash and didn't make it.
I miss her so much.
We had just finished our outdoor planting, trimmed and was starting to cure. This was for us to share this winter.
I went around the town to tell some of her friends with my girl friend.
When we came back to her house her sisters had cleaned up a lot including having the sheriff come and take all our meds! The sisters knew we were gonna use this for our meds. So I called the sherrifs dept. property phone and it was already destroyed because the family asked it to be.
This happened in less than 48 hrs. I even had my recc letter posted with the herb.
I don't have a clue what to do. The sisters couldn't care less. The street value was around $2K for my part. I have fibromyalgia and need my meds,(preferable use is in medibles). I am trying to get ssdi and I'm broke.
I don't want to sue the sisters in small claim court, but I may have to. I understand that they lost a sister, but so did I. She was my little "sister".
She called me at ANY time(last time was at 4a.m. with a bad anxiety attack)
In the mean time I have a bit of meds left, after that who knows.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Meantime, RIP Penney, I love you even more than I can say.

This is a sad story on all levels and I'm not sure any advice can help you. My advice is seek out a compassionate club and tell them the story. Many of these dispensary owners are more compassionate than they are given credit for. Harvest season is a period of excess and they might able able to kick down some meds. Places like Harborside and BPG already have programs in place, they know patients are sick and often poor, and they started the programs during better financial times as I'm sure there are even more poor patients during these times.

The whole Oakland model is designed to give patients enough plant count-wise to pull off an outdoor harvest to last all year. Problems with police and rippers means going indoors is more reliable. So I suggest coming up with a plan to get something going indoors. Present that to the dispensary owners like 'hey, I'm out of meds now but in a couple months I'll have something. You can become self sufficient with just a small 400 watter and be better off in the long run.

Good luck old friend, Penny left some good people behind and I hope things work out for you. Somehow I think they will. Don't give up and stay safe.

Sheriff's dept., no friend to us
Sorry to see something like this happen to anyone, let alone someone who is coping with such grief as you are.

Take heart in the memories of her friendship that you will keep forever.
Plant your next garden in her honor.

I agree with the previous post, don't underestimate the compassion of some of the good Collective owners and providers of this State.

I have heard more than a few people tell me how some owners have helped them in times of need. Sometimes in return they will often volunteer some of their time to work at the collective.

I wish you the best.
Be close to your loved ones in this trying time.
